In August, MATA launched a trial of “Ready! by MATA” an on-demand public transportation service. Currently, “Ready! by MATA” is free and has had a high success rate. Gary Rosenfeld, CEO of MATA, says that in one area (Boxtown, Westwood, and a portion of Whitehaven) riders have spiked from 700 per month to over 19,000 in the past several months of the pilot program.
Guests also discuss the future of MATA and public transportation, as well as funding and the need for dedicated MATA funding.
