The majority of the video games we play are usually developed by a team of creators. However, there has been a change in the world of gaming, with the indie gaming renaissance in full swing. Some indie games are, in fact, developed by a single person. Top 5 Indie Games with a Single Developer

The gaming world is ever-evolving, and new developments take place every day. Online gaming is also becoming increasingly popular. You can find more about it on this page.

Over the years, many developers have come out with games that have been designed and developed independently. A single person has created some of the popular games you play every day. Let us take a look at some of them.

1) Undertale

When we think of indie games, the first one that jumps to mind is Undertale. The game, which got immensely popular in the last few years, was developed independently by Toby Fox. The game featured an intricate storyline and an art style that was charming and low-effort. The thing that the players enjoyed most about this game was its memorable characters, lovable music, and exciting combat system.

According to online sources, the game took almost three years to develop. It started with a crowdfunding campaign, with the help of which Fox was able to raise 1000% more than the original goal. Some of the game’s art assets were provided by Temmie Chang, but besides that, it was created solely by Toby Fox.

2) Bright Memory

Bright Memory is possibly the closest to an AAA studio quality game in the list of games developed by a single person. The game was developed by Zeng’ FYQD’ Xiancheng, who worked on the game in his spare time. This 3D game boasts high-quality graphics and excellent gameplay. The first-person shooter game featured glossy visuals that give the hack and slash action a realistic look. Although the gameplay is a little tricky, Bright Memory proved to be an extremely addictive game.

The game was developed with the help of Unreal Engine 4, which is great for creating polished 3D games. Presently, only one episode of Bright Memory has been released, as the rest of the episodes are still under development.

It would be surprising for all the Minecraft players out there to find that the game was initially developed by a single developer. Presently, Minecraft is owned by Microsoft, and it has around 140 million active players around the world. However, the original game was developed by Marcus’ Notch’ Persson in 2009. Infiniminer inspired the game, and Persson started it as a personal project. He wanted to design a game that added more RPG elements to Infiniminer. After some time, he found his own video game company called Mojang to develop the game further.

The uniqueness of the game lies in the fact that it is procedurally generated. This means that a different world is created for every player, with different biomes, mountains and valleys, and other arrangements.
